Who we are

Be Protected Abroad is operated by BE PROTECTED GLOBAL PTE. LTD., a company registered in Singapore (UEN 202629155G), 36 Robinson Road, #20-01, City House, Singapore 068877 (the “Company”, “we”, “us”).

This notice describes how we handle personal data in connection with beprotectedabroad.com, enquiries and our consultancy services.

Information we collect

We may collect names, e-mail addresses, phone or messaging details, enquiry contents, correspondence, insurance quotation preferences, relevant client and policy administration information, and technical information necessary to operate and secure the website.

Information requested for quotations

Our quotation process may request names, dates of birth, nationality or country of origin, destination, intended coverage start date, details of additional insured persons, coverage preferences, e-mail address and optional messaging details.

Sensitive health information

We do not ask for medical records or detailed medical histories through our website, and our forms are not intended for health disclosures. However, clients may choose to send health information by e-mail or WhatsApp. If this happens, we restrict unnecessary handling, direct the client to the insurer’s or authorised partner’s secure channel where appropriate, and remove unnecessary copies in accordance with applicable requirements.

Purposes of processing

We use personal data to:

• respond to enquiries and assess quotation requirements;
• compare available options;
• coordinate with insurers or authorised partners;
• administer relationships and communications;
• address complaints and maintain records;
• protect our systems;
• meet legal or regulatory obligations.

Legal basis and consent

Where Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) applies, we handle personal data in accordance with the applicable notification, consent and other statutory requirements and exceptions. Where another privacy regime applies, we rely on the appropriate lawful basis for each processing activity.

A request for a quotation is not, by itself, consent to unrelated marketing.

Sharing information

We may share relevant information with insurers, authorised intermediary partners, IT hosting and communications providers, CRM and e-mail service providers, professional advisers, and authorities where legally required.

The information shared depends on the specific enquiry and partner; your contact details are not necessarily shared with every insurer. We require appropriate handling of information by recipients where applicable. We do not sell your personal data.

Systems and storage

Enquiry and client information is handled through Salesforce and our business e-mail accounts. The website is hosted by Hostinger. Requests made through our online quote tool are processed by our quotation system, hosted by Render, which prepares your comparison and sends it to you by e-mail.

International transfers

Our services and technology providers may involve processing in more than one country. We assess cross-border transfers and apply the protections required by law.

Retention

Under our internal retention policy:

• records of prospects who do not become clients are generally reviewed 24 months after the last meaningful interaction;
• former client records are generally retained for seven years after the relationship ends,

unless applicable law or justified legal requirements require otherwise. Retention is reviewed quarterly. We delete or anonymise data when it is no longer necessary, subject to lawful exceptions and backup schedules.

Security

We use organisational and technical safeguards appropriate to the information and systems involved, including controlled access and authorised handling procedures. No transmission or storage method is entirely risk-free. Please avoid sending sensitive documents through ordinary contact forms.

Your privacy choices and rights

Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to request access to or correction of your personal data, withdraw consent, object to certain uses, request deletion or make a complaint, including to a data protection authority such as Singapore's Personal Data Protection Commission. These rights may be subject to exceptions and legal retention requirements.

Marketing

We do not currently use a dedicated e-mail marketing platform. If our marketing practices change, we will provide appropriate notices and choices, and comply with applicable consent and unsubscribe requirements.

Service communications about an existing enquiry are distinct from unrelated marketing.

Cookies and similar technologies

The website may use technical storage or cookies needed for it to function. If we enable analytics, advertising or other third-party tracking technologies, we will disclose them in this notice.

Third-party websites

Our website may link to third-party sites, including insurers and messaging providers. Those organisations process data under their own notices. Please review their policies before submitting information to them.

Children and dependants

Where enquiries concern children or dependants, the person providing their information should have the necessary authority and provide only the information reasonably required for the insurance enquiry.

Changes to this notice

We may update this notice to reflect changes in our practices, technology or legal requirements. The current version and revision date are displayed on this page.
