Our story began in 2018, when the earthquake that struck the Gili Islands in Indonesia highlighted how vulnerable life abroad can be. It revealed the importance of understanding your insurance, having appropriate protection and knowing who to turn to when something happens. That experience inspired Thomas Sabatier to create Be Protected Indonesia.
Through supporting clients in Indonesia, our team saw how insurance needs extended beyond one country. Expats, international families and businesses needed protection that reflected their lives across borders, with clear advice and personal support along the way.
In 2026, Be Protected Abroad was launched as part of Be Protected Global, headquartered in Singapore, to meet those international needs. Building on the experience developed in Indonesia, BPA brings the same personal approach to international health, life and company insurance.
